THE HIDDEN TRACKS PROJECT

In July 2024 I went on a UK-wide cycling trip, recording with bands and artists in each country and being immersed in the country side as I went. With my recording gear in a trailer, I captured the journey along the way. I stopped to record and film a live session in a remote location in each country (England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales), showcasing the diversity of local music scenes while highlighting sustainability.

In February 2023, I released "Gravel and Grassroots," a self-produced documentary-style film documenting a trial trip in September 2021. Now, I am developing this concept, cycling further and upping the production quality both sonically and visually, particularly aiming to inspire and motivate women and non-binary individuals to pursue careers in music and sound engineering. I am invested in the DIY music scenes in the UK as they have so much to offer and the project is allowing me to platform and support artists financially as well as with the film I am making.

I managed to raise over £1000 for Leeds mind while on the trip. Leeds mind do amazing work in the local Leeds community and they have been so supportive of the project. Mental health is something that musicians commonly struggle with so it made sense to raise awareness for Leeds mind and similar charities while doing the project. I knew it would challenge me mentally and physically and it really kept me going through the rough times knowing the money I had already raised for the cause.

I am working on the post production of the film now and it will be out this year sometime… I promise!

Thank you so much to the bands that got involved. Go and give them a listen:
