What’s up! Thought I’d tell you little bit more about who I am and what I do.

I’m Anna, I’m a sound engineer and videographer. I play guitar, drums and keys. When I'm not working, you’ll probably find me doing martial arts, cycling, climbing, hiking, surfing, or running an occasional marathon. The outdoors is my favourite…well it’s probably on a level with music.

In 2018, I started the first version of Ride or D.I. I had no clue what I was doing, but I had a camera, some mics, and all the determination. I spent a lot of time working for free, building my skills, and meeting amazing people along the way. It was a fun time.

I then got an internship at Old Chapel studios. I spent a couple of years in and out of the studio, experimenting and getting familiar with different mics and outboard gear. I also had an internship at Young Thugs studio which again just gave me so much confidence in my ability to record, produce and mix tracks. I loved every minute of it. Alongside this I was doing live sound around Leeds and playing in bands, filming and recording whenever I could.

2021 I went on a mad adventure from Manchester to Land’s End by bike as part of my project Gravel and Grassroots. The aim was to raise awareness of the state of the grassroots music scene and how poorly artists are paid. I recorded, filmed and interviewed 6 bands along the way and you can watch the full documentary here. That was the pilot version and back in July last year (2024) I went off again on my bike, this time bigger and better for a project called The Hidden Tracks.

I have had the pleasure of working for a music and mental health charity, Bringing it all Back Home. I had such an amazing time working there, leading one to one support sessions and filming and editing videos. It was a great community to be part of. Music and mental health is something I am really passionate about.

I ended up landing a part-time gig at Trimble Group, doing more corporate video work. I joined the company from a startup level, so it’s been cool to watch it grow and see how I’ve been a part of that process. While it’s not music-focused, it’s taught me a lot about film studios, lighting, and sound, and how it differs from more spontaneous projects like gigs or run-and-gun videos.

I’m someone who is constantly looking for the next thing to learn and I love to be thrown in the deep end with projects. I guess this might explain why I’m in so many bands or I don’t know how to say no… it’s one or the other.

Anyway, that’s enough from me. If you want any more info give me a message and I’ll be happy to chat.
